Unidentified woman's body found in gunny bag in Palghar

The body of an unidentified woman, aged around 35 years, was found stuffed in a gunny bag near a nullah on Umrate Road in Tumbdepada village. It was found by a local school teacher yesterday afternoon. There were no external injuries on the body which has been sent for a post-mortem. According to police, the victim could have been murdered around four days back and dumped in Wada in an effort to destroy evidence.

Police Inspector Sanjay Hazare of the Wada police station said that cases have been registered against unidentified persons under section 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The matter is being investigated by the police. The victim's identity is yet to be established.

Such incidents of unidentified bodies being found in gunny bags have become a common occurrence in many parts of India. It is important for the authorities to take necessary steps to prevent such crimes and bring the culprits to justice.
