Two bodies fished out from Lovers point in Vasai

The police discovered the bodies of Joseph Prakash Salve (22) and Priyanka Mohite (21) floating in a nullah near Vasai-Nallasopara Road. The post-mortems revealed that Salve was strangled while Mohite was choked and had a deep cut on her neck.

The authorities suspect that the two knew each other and were murdered before their bodies were dumped in the nullah. According to the police, the spot where the bodies were found was known as Lovers Point and was popular among young couples.

While Salve's identity was established through a document found on his body, the police traced Mohite's name from Salve's Facebook account. The police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) against unidentified suspects.

Further investigations are underway, and once the police speak with both families, they will determine if robbery was the motive behind the murder.
